I find it really fun and interesting. I help design equipment that goes on huge ships that lay pipes and cables at the bottom of the sea.

It is a lot of fun being an engineer with lots of different challenges and problems to solve every day. My jobs are always different from working at sea and fixing machinery to keep the ship sailing to working on the dock yard designing modifications to improve ships. I love the mixture of working as a manager and getting my hands dirty!

It can be challenging but very rewarding too. My job is to study drinking water treatment processes which remove harmful pollutants and engineer ways to make them better.

Hi Gabby. Being an engineer is great! It’s great to be solving problems and trying to help people everyday. My job at Cardiff University where I try and find new ways to stop people getting flooded when it rains. This means I am sometimes in my office thinking of new ideas, and sometimes travelling around the UK talking with people about it.
