Engineering chose me really! I spent the summer after University working in Canada helping to develop some tags that we attach to sharks to help scientists to understand their movement. During some of the work I went to sea on fishing boats and discovered that I loved working in the engine room. It was great being close to the noise and the oily smells. So when I went back to the UK I did everything I could to be at sea and worked in different engineering roles on different ships.

Yes, I love the sea and I love working on the sea. I did a degree in marine biology as well as an engineering degree!
